Granny (Babusja)

The story of granny Tosia who is a huge burden to everyone in her old age. After caring for her sick daughter and her drunken and unemployed grandson for years, her daughter-in-law arrives out of nowhere and granny, who once defended Stalingrad, has to move to her sister's. But she can't live at her place either and so she looks for hospitality with various family members, who in the new capitalist Russia have neither time nor understanding for her. She feels most warmth in a refugee family from Chechnya. (Simon Popek)
