MARIJA MOJCA PUNGERČAR

Marija Mojca Pungerčar is a fine artist who for decades has combined contemporary visual art and the everyday experience of people in the period of global capitalism. Her work is marked by a strong social engagement, which is reflected in the majority of her projects, from the issue of women’s unemployment in the textile industry (Singer), to addressing the discriminatory policy towards women characteristic of private insurance companies that has also infected policy at the state level (Mortality Tables). Her projects draw attention to the significance of locality and community.
