In early August 2019, City of Women has published an open call for young people (18-30 years old) based in Slovenia, who are interested in activism and art at the intersections of feminist and LGBT+ politics. The call invited them to the ACTART International Youth Exchange that is going to take place in Zagreb, Croatia, between 30 September and 6 October 2019.
We have received seven applications. Since every applicant expressed a great interest in the exchange of knowledge and experiences with their peers from Croatia and Serbia, we are happy that all of them can take part in the youth exchange:
- Nika Cimperšek Bukinac, researcher of performing arts, created by minority groups;
- Lea Culetto, visual artist with a feminist view on women’s body;
- Petra Korent, illustrator, focused on emotions, sexuality and intimate relationships;
- Ana Lorger, researcher of feminist and LGBT+ literature;
- Veronika Razpotnik, poet and student housing rights activist;
- Anamarija Šiša, researcher of love and women’s reproductive rights in capitalism;
- Nurlama Vidrih, graphic designer, volunteer at feminist festivals and LGBT+ activist.
Congratulations!

At the exchange, they participants are going to acquire additional knowledge and skills about how to independently start a noticeable debate in the public sphere and how to (co)organise media campaigns, protests and other socially engaged events. The exchange is going to conclude with an exhibition, displaying what the participants have created together. In Zagreb, the exhibition will be on view during the 13th Vox Feminae festival. Later, it is going to move to Ljubljana and Belgrade.
The ACTART International Youth Exchange is happening in the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme. It is organised by the K-zona Association (Zagreb) in cooperation with the Organisation for Promotion of Activism (Femix Project, Belgrade) and the Association for the Promotion of Women in Culture – City of Women (Ljubljana).
With the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
