INTERNATIONAL FILM PROGRAMME

Didem Pekün's work explores both artistic research and practice; conceptually it deals with the production of subjectivities within violent geographies and displacement. Valérie Massadian is a filmmaker whose work concentrates on female characters, their animality, and their relationships with nature and the world.

Award winning directors will be present at the screenings of their films, which have been shown on various important film festivals in Europe.

CHEERS TO WOMEN! 25 YEARS OF FILM AND VIDEO

The new performance by Ana Čigon Cheers to Women! A Performative Appetizer to Video Art is dedicated to video art created between 1995 and 2015 by Slovenian female videasts. Performance is opening a group exhibition Cheers to Women! 25 Years of Film and Video, which will be open until October 7th.

DRAWERS

The 25th International Festival of Contemporary Arts - City of Women will be opened with the legendary women’s theatre collective She She Pop from Berlin, who will be in Slovenia for the first time. Women from West Berlin in the performance Drawers rummage through the drawers of women who grew up on the Eastern side of the Berlin wall.
