Neda Rusjan Bric

Neda Rusjan Bric has a BA in acting and an MA in theatre directing from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television of the University of Ljubljana. Since 1995, she has been a member of the Mladinsko Theatre ensemble. In 2005, she created her first original project, Trieste – Alessandria Embarked (Štorja od Lešandrink). Since then, she regularly directs theatre projects, mostly based on her own drama texts; she has also directed a number of national celebrations and other events. She headed the winning candidacy of Nova Gorica and Gorizia for the European Capital of Culture 2025, where she is currently artistic director. Furthermore, she is a professor at the School of Arts, University of Nova Gorica. She has appeared in several TV series and over ten films. Her writing, acting and directing projects have won numerous awards: the Satire Award at the Ptuj-based SKUP Festival (2009), the ZDUS Award for best acting (2010) and two Bršljanov venec Awards of the ZDUS (2014 in 2015), the Tantadruj Award (2012), the France Bevk Award of the City of Nova Gorica (2013) and the Mira Award of the Slovenian PEN Centre (2019).
